The star HD147889 in the center of image sinks silently in the tempest that is the large nebula complex in the Rho Ophiuchius / Antares area. The dark currents swirl around the stars, their gases and dust absorbing and scattering the blue light of the stars turning most of them orange / red.
The Ophiuchius cloud complex is a popular target for widefield astrophotography with its multitude of colours and fascinating nebula structures. Deeper shots are typically of the bright Rho Ophicuhi, or Antares, or the nearby Blue Horsehead nebula, but poor ol' HD147889 is often forgetten against it's more flashier siblings.
