Carcharoth
In the constellation Scorpio a great, dark wolf lies in wait amongst the glowing crimson nebula, patiently watching as the stars drift like snow in the never ending night.
Sandqvist 17, the Dark Wolf nebula, is located near the stars Zeta 1 and 2 Scorpii. It is a dark nebula that resides infront of the emission nebula Gum 55 or RCW113. This broadband image was taken under the dark skies near Eurardy, Western Australia with an integration time of 9hrs 20min over two nights.
