Night 2015 - IMG_5214

SKU:
"The Hunter Awakens"

Its getting close to summer time, and this time of year Orion the Hunter is rising higher and higher in the evening sky.

I shot this heavily over-processed photo at Hangover Bay - I was determined to capture Barnard's Loop (that faint brown smudge of a nebula that arcs around the Orion and Flame nebula).  Its pretty hard with a DSLR.

The photo is shot with a Canon EOS6D through a 50mm lens.  It is a composite of two shots, one of the sky with a tracking mount, and one of the foreground shot immediately afterward with the mount stationary.
